WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! One of the best ways to become involved in your child's education is to give your time. Our primary goal this year is to encourage parents to volunteer. We are starting a new program called 2 Hour Power. We are looking for as many parents as are able to commit to only 2 hours of volunteer time for the entire school year. If you want to help more…Fantastic! However, we are only asking for 2 hours of your time. We are asking for volunteers for the following events:
Fall Festival Thank you to all of the PTO Board Members and parent volunteers who donated both their time and baked goods to the fall festival. It was a success!
PTO Membership Drive A HUGE thank you to all of the families who joined PTO! You all helped us go "UP" in membership this year! Remember that it is never too late to join PTO. You can stop by the office anytime during the school year to pay your membership dues. Congratulations to Mrs. Smissen's 4th grade class who had 100% PTO membership! They will be receiving the movie party!
Upcoming Events PTO has several fundraisers throughout the year in order to provide for many Avalon community events such as Muffins with Moms and Donuts with Dads, as well as important educational opportunities. This year, PTO funds will be providing such essentials as Accelerated Reader, Study Island, and educational assemblies. PTO would like to thank you in advance for helping to meet our fundraising goals for the 2009-2010 school year. Together, we will be able to provide an exciting year for our children. Avalon students will have the opportunity to do their holiday shopping at our Santa Gift Shop. It is exciting for them to pick out gifts and surprise their family and friends later! Students also learn important mathematical concepts since they must budget their money to purchase items for everyone on their list.
This year, the Toys for Tots Dance will be during the last hour of the school day. The admission for the dance is one, unwrapped toy valued at $5.00 or more.
