Hello Dear Parent/Guardians, 

I began my teaching career in 1988 here at Val Verde Elementary School back in the day when there were only two schools in the district. I am very excited to be back here where it all began.  The district and our school have come a long ways since then.  My Administration career has given me the opportunity to be a school principal at five different schools in San Diego and Riverside counties.  I came back home because of the amazing progress this district has made in student achievement.  I am proud to be part of the effort and to be working at a school where some of my former students are now parents of my current students.

We have a very dedicated and hardworking staff that will go above the ordinary to provide the best possible education for our students.  We welcome you to join us in this effort to prepare our students to be successful in all of their future endeavors.

Hello Dear Parents/Guardians,

I'm Christopher McDonald and it is an honor to serve the Val Verde community. This is my second assistant principal assignment I was at Lasselle Elementary where I began my administrative career. I taught to 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Tomas Rivera Middle School for 12 years.

I look forward to working with your child as well as each of you. I believe a family/school partnership is necessary for student success. I encourage you to become involved in school activities and committees. Our School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are always in search of members. Your time and services will be positive for your child as well as the school.

We recognize that parents are their child's first and most important teachers, we need your cooperation and involvement to provide your child with the best education possible. Take time to review and/or talk with your child about his/her school experiences. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best. Also, please maintain contact with your child's teacher as well as support staff members to establish a successful home/school connection.
