College Bound Program
All Avalon students are focused on going to college. Avalon encourages the development of college and professional career goals. Our continued growth as a professional learning community is committed to academic excellence that is shared by our students, staff, and parents. Every child has the potential to achieve academic success and as a team administrators, parents, teachers, and support providers possess the keys necessary to unlock that success.
Avalon has created comprehensive ways to promote college readiness for all students beginning at kindergarten. We need every student, parent, and staff member to embrace and support this endeavor. From kindergarten to college students must be engaged in meaningful learning. Avalon students know their graduation date from college. This date is four years after their high school date. The date is on every student's school shirt.

Much of the collaboration is linked to academics. Our students, for example, have participated in a Red Ribbon Week poster contest. Incentives provided by business partners include books, notebooks, computers, printers, school supplies, gifts certificates, brief cases, camera, flash lights, DVD Players, DVD/ CD Writer, and fax machines.
Technology
Avalon is preparing students to be a part of the 21st century by utilizing cutting edge technology to enrich and reinforce standardized lessons while engaging students. We believe in using technology to support standards-based curriculum. Through technology our students are on a voyage of self-discovery. Technology provides the building blocks to strengthen basic skills, including writing, reading, comprehension, articulation of ideas, research and problem solving. Avalon has acquired a myriad of technological resources which are used on a daily basis in classrooms by teachers, students, and parents.
